James Rufo is an experienced bankruptcy attorney helping individuals and businesses through the bankruptcy process to reduce and/or eliminate past tax liabilities, avoid judgment liens, modify mortgage and reorganize their financial situation.

James assists in business reorganizations in order to reduce debt and clear up tax and other liabilities in order to regain profitability under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code. James is experienced in standard Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases as well as cases under the new Subchapter V of Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code.

James regularly assists clients with the foreclosure process often enabling clients to identify errors made by the bank in the foreclosure process, which can be leveraged to seek dismissal; of claims or loan modifications.

James is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, and the Westchester County Bar Association.
